Start your Wheaton journey this summer

Academic Orientation is a one-day on-campus program that serves as a fun and engaging start to your Wheaton College academic journey. Choose the date that best fits your schedule to visit campus for the day, and participate in a mix of workshops, small-group offerings, and individualized advising sessions. You will explore your curricular options and honors/scholars pathways, register for fall courses, and make valuable connections with your academic advising team (faculty, staff, & peers) along with other campus resources. This program will also include optional family orientation/informational offerings, with sessions facilitated by the Provost’s Office, Dean of Students Office, and important Student Services. If you are a Nursing, WheaGo Global, or Transfer student, we recommend that you sign up for the Thursday, June 26, 2025 orientation.

Here is a brief overview of what you can expect at Academic Orientation:

• Orient Your Compass: Your day will start with a keynote welcome and a series of sessions on a range of topics including: what to expect from your first-semester classes, academic technology/tools (Canvas, DegreeWorks, Starfish), connecting with your faculty, campus services, and extracurricular opportunities. These sessions will help you understand the tools and resources available to you as you start your academic journey in your new community.

• Explore Campus: Get ready to explore our beautiful campus! Throughout the day, you will have the chance to discover key locations on campus, such as academic buildings, the library, residence halls, dining facilities, and other important areas. You will gain a better sense of the campus layout and feel more comfortable navigating your new surroundings.

• Academic Advising: Your advising network is committed to providing quality holistic advising services that meet your unique needs. You will meet with academic advisors during the orientation session who will help you explore our Compass Curriculum, map out your first semester, and guide you in selecting courses. Your advising team will be an invaluable resource as you explore our curriculum and plan for a successful transition to college life.
